Auto Paint Refinishing & Color Matching
A paint repair is only finished when you can't find it. We refinish damaged panels and blend the new color into the rest of your vehicle, including metallic and tri-coat finishes, so the repair disappears into the original paint on any make or model.
When a Panel Needs Refinishing
Paint is the layer that protects the panel underneath, not just the color you see. Once it's cracked, chipped, or scraped through, the panel needs to be repaired and refinished to restore that protection and the finish. If the paint is still intact, the dent may qualify for paintless dent repair instead, which leaves the factory finish alone.
Refinishing Is Needed
Scratches through the color, chips, cracked or flaking paint, body repairs that needed filling or reshaping, and replacement panels that arrive unpainted.
May Not Need Paint
Dents and dings where the paint hasn't cracked or chipped, which can often be pushed back into shape with paintless dent repair.
Matching Your Car, Not Just the Paint Code
The paint code on your door jamb is a starting point, not the answer. The same code can vary slightly from one factory batch to the next, and years of sun change how a finish looks. We use computerized color-matching to match your vehicle as it is today, including complex tri-coat and metallic finishes, then blend the new paint into the surrounding panels so there's no visible line between new and original.
Computerized Matching
The color is matched to your vehicle's actual finish, not only the code it left the factory with.
Blending
New color is faded into the neighboring panels, so a metallic or pearl finish looks right from every angle.
Controlled Paint Booth
Paint is applied in a controlled booth, away from the dust and debris that would show in the finished surface.
The Refinishing Process
Free Estimate & Inspection
We inspect the damage and the panels around it, and photograph it for your insurance file.
Body Repair & Preparation
Any dents or damage under the paint are repaired first, then the surface is prepared so the new finish bonds and lies flat.
Color Match & Paint
The color is matched to your vehicle and applied in a controlled paint booth, blended into the adjacent panels.
Inspection & Quality Control
The finish is checked against the rest of the car before your vehicle leaves the shop.
Paint Work on Every Make and Model
Teslas are refinished at our Des Moines Tesla Approved Collision Center; every other make and model, gas, hybrid, or electric, at our Burien facility. Paint work is often one part of a larger repair, alongside collision repair, bumper repair, and ADAS calibration, and it's all handled in the same repair. Our work is backed by our limited lifetime warranty.
Paint Refinishing FAQ
Yes. We use computerized color-matching to match your factory finish, including metallic and tri-coat colors, and we match to your vehicle as it is today rather than to the paint code alone. The new finish is then blended into the surrounding panels in a controlled paint booth so the repair reads as part of the car.
That's blending. Even a perfect color match can look slightly different on a panel sitting right next to the original paint, especially with metallics and pearls that change with the viewing angle. Fading the new color gradually into the neighboring panels removes the hard line where old meets new, so your eye has no edge to catch.
This is exactly why we color-match to your vehicle as it is now rather than to the paint code alone. Our technicians blend the new finish into the surrounding panels in a controlled booth, so the repair reads as part of the car instead of a fresh patch on a weathered finish.
Sometimes. If the paint isn't cracked or chipped, paintless dent repair can push the metal back into shape and leave the factory finish untouched. Once the paint is broken, the panel needs traditional repair and refinishing to protect the metal and restore the finish.
They take more care than a solid color, because the look depends on layers and on how the metallic or pearl particles lie in the paint. We match these finishes with computerized color-matching and blend them into the adjacent panels, which is what keeps them from looking off when the light changes.
Every repair is different, so the only accurate figure comes from a free estimate. What drives it is how many panels need refinishing and blending, the type of finish, and any body repair underneath. If you're filing an insurance claim, your deductible is usually the main thing you pay, and we bill your insurer directly.
