Where We Serve

Murray's CARSTAR Collision is at 22001 Pacific Hwy S in Des Moines, on the highway between Sea-Tac Airport and Federal Way. We are a Tesla Approved Collision Center and an I-CAR Gold Class shop, we repair every make and model, and we serve customers across south King County and West Seattle.

Pick Your City

Drive Times to Our Des Moines Shop

Every city below has its own page with routes, neighborhoods, and the questions we get asked most from that area. All drive times assume normal traffic rather than the worst of the afternoon commute.

Normandy Park

About 5 minutes. Normandy Park has no collision shops of its own, so for most of the city we are the nearest shop of any kind as well as the nearest certified one.

Normandy Park repairs →

SeaTac

About 7 minutes straight down International Boulevard. Angle Lake light rail is close enough that you can leave the car with us and carry on by train.

SeaTac repairs →

Burien

About 10 minutes. Our all-makes facility is in Burien on SW 150th St, though estimates for every vehicle are written at the Des Moines shop.

Burien repairs →

Kent

About 12 minutes west on Kent Des Moines Road. One road from downtown Kent and the valley, over Midway and onto Pacific Highway South.

Kent repairs →

Federal Way

About 12 minutes north on Pacific Highway South, with no turns. From Redondo or Dash Point we are closer than many shops inside Federal Way.

Federal Way repairs →

Tukwila

About 15 minutes from Southcenter. SR 518 west then south on the highway avoids the I-5 merge entirely, which is usually the faster way.

Tukwila repairs →

West Seattle

About 20 minutes, without crossing the West Seattle Bridge. There is no Tesla Approved shop in West Seattle, which is why we see so many of them.

Beyond Those Cities

We Take Work From Across the Puget Sound

The cities above are the ones close enough to have their own page, but they are not a boundary. We regularly repair vehicles from Seattle, Renton, Auburn, Tacoma, Bellevue, and further out, particularly Teslas, because Tesla grants collision approval to individual facilities and there are not many approved shops between here and the state line. If you are willing to make the drive, distance is rarely the obstacle people expect. Call (206) 824-8454 and we will tell you honestly whether the trip makes sense for the repair you need.

Our Two Facilities

Which Shop Does What

Teslas are repaired at 22001 Pacific Hwy S Ste 101, Des Moines, WA 98198, which is the facility Tesla certified and the only one set up for walk-ins. Every other make and model, including gas vehicles, hybrids, and non-Tesla EVs, is repaired at our Burien facility, 243 SW 150th St, Burien, WA 98166. Estimates for any vehicle are written at Des Moines. Call (206) 824-8454 and we will tell you where to go.

Common Questions

Service Area FAQ

No, we do not pick up vehicles. If the car is drivable, bring it to our Des Moines shop at 22001 Pacific Hwy S during business hours. If it is not drivable, have it towed here: our towing partner Pete's Towing can bring it in, or your insurer or roadside assistance can arrange the tow. Give the tow driver a key. A tow truck can drop it off after hours. Tesla customers can also ask about our VIP concierge fleet, subject to availability, which keeps you in a vehicle you already know how to charge and drive. Call (206) 824-8454 to arrange any of it.

For an older vehicle with straightforward panel damage, an honest local shop is a perfectly reasonable choice and we will say so. It changes for a Tesla, an aluminum-bodied vehicle, or any car whose driver assistance sensors sat behind the damaged panel. Tesla approves collision facilities one building at a time, so the certification, the genuine Tesla OEM parts, the VIN-specific repair procedures, and the in-house camera and radar recalibration are either present at a shop or they are not. That is what the extra ten or fifteen minutes buys.

Yes. Send photos for a free photo estimate and we can tell you what we are looking at and roughly what to expect. Treat it as a starting point rather than a final number, because damage behind a panel does not show up in a photograph, so we confirm everything in person before work begins. Tesla owners are welcome to walk in during business hours with no appointment.

Yes, both inside our direct repair program network and outside it, and we bill most major carriers directly either way. Whether a shop appears on your carrier's preferred list affects the billing paperwork rather than the repair or the warranty behind it. Washington law also gives you the right to choose your own repair shop no matter what that list says, so you never need us to be on it. See our insurance page for the full claims process.

Yes, every make and model, including gas vehicles, hybrids, and non-Tesla EVs. Those repairs are carried out at our Burien facility, operated by Murray's Collision Group, using the same OEM-approved procedures and backed by the same limited lifetime warranty on workmanship. Your free estimate is written at our Des Moines shop. Burien is not a walk-in location, so we arrange that drop-off with you over the phone.
