Collision and Tesla Repair for Burien

Burien is the one city on this list where we are already the local shop. Our all-makes facility sits at 243 SW 150th St, and our Tesla Approved Collision Center is about 10 minutes south at 22001 Pacific Hwy S in Des Moines. Free estimates are written at the Des Moines shop.

Two Shops, One Team

Which of Our Buildings Your Car Goes To

Murray's Collision Group runs two facilities and Burien has one of them, which occasionally confuses people who drive past it expecting to walk in. Here is how it actually works. Teslas are repaired at our Des Moines shop, because that is the facility Tesla certified, and the certification is granted to a building rather than to a company. Every other make and model, including gas vehicles, hybrids, and non-Tesla EVs, is repaired at the Burien facility. Estimates for anything are written at Des Moines. Burien is a production shop rather than a front counter, so it is not set up for walk-ins, and we arrange that drop-off with you over the phone once the estimate is done. Same team, same OEM-approved procedures, same limited lifetime warranty on workmanship either way.

Getting Here

Ten Minutes Down Highway 509

Burien to Des Moines is one of the shorter trips anyone makes to us.

The Simple Route

From Burien Town Square, take 1st Ave S or Highway 509 south. It becomes Des Moines Memorial Drive and Pacific Highway South as you come into Des Moines. We are on the highway at S 220th Street, a straight run with no freeway involved.

From the West Side

From Seahurst, Three Tree Point, or anywhere along Marine View Drive, SW 160th or SW 152nd east to Ambaum Boulevard, then south on 1st Ave S. Ten to twelve minutes depending on the lights on Ambaum.

Towing and Rentals

If your car cannot be driven, have it towed from Burien to our Des Moines shop. Our towing partner, Pete's Towing, can bring it in, or your insurer or roadside assistance can arrange the tow. Just give the tow driver a key. A tow truck can drop it off after hours. Tesla customers can ask about our VIP concierge fleet, subject to availability. Call (206) 824-8454 to arrange either one.

Neighborhoods We See Most

Seahurst, Three Tree Point, Gregory Heights, Boulevard Park, Lake Burien, Salmon Creek, Manhattan, and the Ambaum and 1st Ave S corridors. White Center and North Highline sit just up the road and we see plenty of both.

Worth Knowing

Sensor Recalibration Is Not Optional Any More

Burien driving is stop-and-go arterials, which means most of what we see from here is low-speed: bumper covers, quarter panels, mirrors, a headlight. That is exactly the damage people assume is cosmetic. It usually is not, because bumper covers and mirrors are where manufacturers put the radar, cameras, and ultrasonic sensors that run automatic braking, blind spot monitoring, and lane keeping. Replace the cover and skip the recalibration and the car looks finished while its driver assistance is measuring the road from the wrong position. We recalibrate in house, document it, and hand you the paperwork with the vehicle. Our guide to Tesla ADAS calibration explains what the procedure actually involves, and the same principle applies to most modern vehicles from any manufacturer.

Claims and Coverage

You Choose the Shop, Not Your Insurer

Washington law gives you the right to choose your own repair shop, whoever you are insured with. An insurance company can suggest a shop on its list; it cannot require you to use one. We work with all insurance companies, both inside our direct repair program network and outside it, coordinate directly with your adjuster, and file the supplement ourselves when disassembly turns up damage nobody could see at the estimate. On a covered claim, most customers pay their deductible and nothing else. See our insurance page for the full claims process, and our warranty page for what is covered afterward: the Murray's Collision Group limited lifetime warranty on workmanship for as long as you own the vehicle, plus CARSTAR's Limited Five-Year Nationwide Warranty on repairs completed at our Des Moines shop.

Questions From Burien Customers

Burien Repair FAQ

Not for an estimate. The Burien facility is where the all-makes repair work is carried out, and it does not have a front counter or the staffing for walk-in traffic. Come to our Des Moines shop at 22001 Pacific Hwy S Ste 101 instead, about 10 minutes south, where estimates are written for every make and model. Once the estimate and the repair plan are done, we arrange the Burien drop-off with you over the phone.

Because Tesla certifies facilities, not companies. The approval covers a specific building, its equipment, its tooling, and the technicians trained in it, and our Des Moines shop is the one that holds it. That is also why a shop that says it is Tesla certified is worth checking against Tesla's own collision center directory rather than taking on trust. Our Tesla repair page links to the directory so you can verify us independently.

The Murray's Collision Group limited lifetime warranty on workmanship is the same at both locations and lasts as long as you own the vehicle. There is one addition rather than a difference: because the Des Moines shop is a CARSTAR location, repairs completed there also carry CARSTAR's Limited Five-Year Nationwide Warranty, honored at CARSTAR locations across the USA and Canada. Full terms are on our warranty page.

Yes. We work with all insurance companies, both inside our direct repair program network and outside it, and we bill most major carriers directly. Being on or off a carrier's list changes the paperwork, not the repair or the warranty behind it, and Washington law gives you the right to choose your own shop regardless of what that list says. Call (206) 824-8454 with your carrier and we will walk you through how your claim will run.

Most repairs run about 7 to 10 business days once the parts are in hand. Multiple panels, structural work, or a part on backorder push it longer. As a Tesla Approved Collision Center we have access to roughly 90% of Tesla parts by the next day, which takes out the most common delay. You get updates as the work moves rather than having to chase us, and a target delivery date once the plan is approved and parts have arrived.
